After all of the eating and drinking I did over the winter holidays, I managed to go back to work one pound lighter than I was before the start of the winter holidays, and I’ve managed to keep the weight off. I attribute this to the Wii Fit. Over the holidays, I was exercising with it every night, and now that I’m back to work, and can’t use it as often as I like, the thought of the embarrassment of having my wife see a rise in my weight or BMI each successive time we do use the Wii Fit, is motivation enough to get me to make healthier choices during the work day. The only problem I've had with the Wii Fit so far, is that I can't get the background music of the step aerobics game out of my head. It's too catchy.
It had been suggested by some people at the office, that all work and no play, had been making me a dull boy. I had also noticed that it was making me look like a dough boy. I decided that something needed to be done to solve both problems, so I went out and got a Nintendo Wii game console, its Wii Fit accessory, and the Wii Sports software. Aki and I had heard of people who had lost weight by playing the games in the Wii Sports software package, and had said that they enjoyed every minute of their “Wii Diet”. We had been thinking about getting a Wii for a while, but what really motivated us to go out and get one, was the release of the Wii Fit earlier this month. The Wii Fit is a combination scale, body fat index calculator, and motion sensor, that is used together with exercise software made for the Wii, that is supposed to improve your balance, help you loose weight, and it is guaranteed to make you sweat. You stand on the pressure and motion sensitive Wii Fit balance board, and it measures your movement as you do exercises like jogging, aerobics, calisthenics, and yoga. Then it gives you feedback and encouragement about your workout. We’re going to try out the Wii tonight to see if it lives up to all of its hype.
